How to install the Azure Virtual Machine Scheduler Install Guide

You will need the following information prior to installing the software;

  1. An Account and Password for your Azure Subscriptions that has rights to power on and off your virtual machines
  2. Either a local machine (with internet access) or a VM within Azure to install AVMS on to. (Please note that the machine must be on at times that you wish the schedule to run.)
  3. A suitable Microsoft Windows Operating System;
    • Windows 7
    • Windows 8
    • Windows 10
    • Windows 2008 R2
    • Windows 2012
    • Windows 2012 R2
  4. Your email server details and a username and password for the email authentication

AVMS Setup

To install the AVMS software, download and run the AVMS executable and follow these steps.

Click Next to start the installation.

AVMS Prerequisites

The AVMS prerequisites will need to install first. Make sure they are both selected and click Next.

Microsoft Access Database Engine

The Microsoft Access Database Engine is the first prerequisite to install. Click Next to continue.

Accept the license agreement and click Next to continue.

Leave the install location as it is and click Next.

The Microsoft Access Databae Engine will start to install.

Once it has completed, click OK to continue with the prerequisite installation.

Microsoft Azure PowerShell Module

The next prerequisite to install is the Microsoft Azure Powershell Module. Click Next to start its installation.

Make sure that the checkbox is checked for I accept the terms in the License Agreement and then click Install.

The Azure Powershell module will now install.

Once completed, click on Finish.

AVMS Setup Wizard

The AVMS Setup Wizard will now start. Click Next when ready to do so.

Click Accept  to accept the license agreement and to continue the installation

Choose an installation folder, or click Next to accept the default folder and to continue the installation.

To now proceed and to install the Azure Virtual Machine Scheduler Software, click Install to progress.

Once AVMS has installed, click Finish to complete the installation. You may be prompted to restart your machine, do so if requested.
